The integration with Nextdoor will enable the Evesham Police Department to communicate online with Evesham Township neighborhoods. Residents and police will be able to work together to improve safety and strengthen neighborhood watch efforts.
Nextdoor has already proven to be an essential and valuable tool for Evesham residents. Within 48 hours of agency launching a department profile on Nextdoor, (21) twenty-one neighborhoods immediately joined efforts in this collaborative endeavor. Our police department has always invested in innovative ways to reach out to our community and increase the safety for our residents.
With Nextdoor, Evesham Township residents can join private neighborhood websites to share information, including neighborhood public safety issues, community events and activities, local services, lost property or even missing pets. The Evesham Police Department will be able to post information, such as safety tips and crime alerts, to Nextdoor website within Evesham Township.
Nextdoor is free for residents and the Police Department. Each Evesham Township neighborhood will have its own private Nextdoor neighborhood website, accessible only to residents who verify that they live in the neighborhood. Neighborhoods establish and self-manage their own Nextdoor site and the Police Department will not be able to access resident’s websites, contact information, or content. Information shared on Nextdoor is password protected and cannot be accessed by search engines.
Those interested in joining their neighborhood’s Nextdoor website can visit nextdoor.com and enter their address. If residents have questions about their website they can contact Lieutenant Ronald Ritter.
